The Peace Festival aims to foster a city-wide promotion of peace, unity, and human rights. It runs from the International Day of Peace September 21st to October 2nd, Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday and the International Day of Non-Violence. Indo-Canadian Women’s Associations presents: PEACE FEST 2016 - Celebration of peace in our community: Youth group presentation, speech & discussion on Women’s contribution to PEACE - Global and Local “How women can make a difference in promoting peace in their homes and communities” Invited Speakers: Nina Delling, President, United Nations Association, Works in international education at Grant MacEwan University, to apply her skills and knowledge of communication between cultures and diverse audiences. Colleen Ring, Board Member- Mahatma Gandhi Canadian Foundation for World Peace Is a retired teacher, initiator behind the Random Acts of Kindness Week movement in Canada. She was the 2010 recipient of the YMCA Peace Medal as well as Award of Merit recognition by the ATA’s Religious and Moral Education Specialist Council for her continuous work towards promoting value based school program.
