      RISE Awards

THE EDMONTON MENNONITE CENTRE FOR NEWCOMERS AND HONORARY CHAIR, KAREN LYNCH, WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO THE POSTPONED 13TH ANNUAL RISE AWARDS

On May 4th, after thoughtful deliberation, the Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers cancelled the RISE Awards Gala due to the wildfire devastation in Fort McMurray. Northlands had been established as an emergency evacuation site for up to 2,400 evacuees from the fires in Fort McMurray, and EMCN knew it was unfitting to host a joyous celebration amongst those who just lost everything.

We believe we did the right thing by postponing the event to pay our respects to the newly displaced evacuees, and also to properly and cheerfully celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of the 2016 Award Recipients at a future date.

With that said,we are excited that the time is approaching to give our award recipients the ceremony they deserve. Although smaller in scale, the energy and enthusiasm that the RISE gala is known for is larger than ever. EMCN is proud to announce that tickets to the rescheduled event are FREE for all attendees.
